Click It Or Ticket Campaign Has Begun

Indiana State Police and dozens of local police agencies are joining forces for their annual Click It or Ticket campaign, which started this week and runs through June 3rd.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says 48-percent of people killed in crashes in 2016 weren’t wearing seatbelts. Between the hours of 6 p-m and 6 a-m, that number rose to 56-percent.  That’s why Click It or Ticket will focus a lot on night time seatbelt enforcement.
In Indiana, the maximum penalty for a seat belt violation is 25-dollars, but officers say they usually find other violations after stopping drivers who aren’t buckled up.
