Grant County’s entry in the National Spelling Bee won’t be on the stage today for the finals of the event.
Though 11-year old Evan Bishir of Fairmount did well in spelling his words in the preliminary rounds, he failed to make the top 50, based on the online portion of the competition.
Evan Bishir won the Grant County Spelling Bee in March to earn his spot among the nation’s top 515 spellers and be able to compete in the National event in Washington D-C.
The finals of that event are set for this evening.
