Kitts Resigns From Marion School Board

For the second time in just over a week, a member of the Marion School Board has resigned.
Greg Kitts stepped down last night, effective immediately.  He had been a member of the Marion School Board since 2007.  No reason was given for his sudden departure.
Kitts’ resignation came one week after Cathy Moritz resigned following an issue involving a Facebook post and the public reaction to it.
Applications are now being accepted for both school board positions.  Applications for Moritz spot on the board are due Tuesday.  Applications for Kitts’ at-large seat on the board are due by July 13th.  Whoever is picked for both seats will hold those positions until the terms expire at the end of December…though both can seek a full term on the board in the November election.
