Anderson Military Museum Closing After 25 Years

An Anderson military museum will close its doors following the recent tax auction sale of its home of more than 25 years.
McClain’s Historical Military Armor Museum faces an August deadline to vacate the property in Anderson, where the collection of tanks, aircraft and other items has been on display since 1990.
Museum founder Joe McClain is fighting a back taxes claim, and argues that the museum has been a nonprofit organization since it was founded.
Much of the museum’s property has been sent to other museums, but some items, including military cargo trucks and trailers, were sold at auction on Saturday.
