Growth Council Pleads To Co. Council Not To Cut Budget

Several people with the Grant County Economic Growth Council personally pleaded with the Grant County Council last night not to slash their budget for 2019.
The County Council has proposed cutting the Growth Council’s budget by nearly two-thirds for next year.
The “Chronicle-Tribune” reports the County Council tabled any action on the matter because the plan hasn’t yet received approval by the state.
Officials argued last night that the Growth Council is vital in the economic activity of Grant County. County Council members have proposed cutting the Growth Council’s budget as part of their plan to raise the County’s Local Income Tax from 2.25-percent to 2.55-percent.
