Amazon Looking At Greenwood For D-Center

Amazon is considering building a distribution center in Greenwood. That’s what an Amazon representative said Monday night.
The Greenwood City Council approved a 10-year tax break for Amazon as part of a package to bring the proposed 615-thousand-square-foot center to Greenwood near an I-65 interchange.   Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers says Amazon likes the location because it’s next to a major highway that connects Indianapolis to several other interstate highways.
The Greenwood facility is not connected to the Amazon headquarters that Indianapolis is trying to get. Greenwood is competing with one other community for the distribution center. If Greenwood is chosen, the facility would bring 1,250 full-time jobs.
