Unemployment appears to be lower in Howard and surrounding counties.
The latest figures from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development shows joblessness went down to 3.7-percent in Howard County in August.
While Howard County’s unemployment rate is now 3.7-percent, the only counties higher than that in this area are Grant County at 4.4-percent and Miami County’s at an even 4-percent.
Tipton County has the lowest unemployment rate in this area at 2.9-percent.
