BSU Economist On Unemployment & Economy

Ball State University economist Mike Hicks says despite an unemployment rate that dropped to its lowest level since 1969, the September federal jobs report was disappointing.
Hicks says the figures released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics show 134-thousand jobs were added in the U-S in September, but that was lower than previous estimates and were the poorest in a year.
Hicks says the numbers were affected by Hurricane Florence, which hit North Carolina and surrounding states hard last month.
