Central High School in Muncie has teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana to open a new food pantry at the school that will provide food items for the needy on the first Wednesday of each month.
Central students will have the first opportunity to gather needed items from the Bearcat Food Pantry, then those in the surrounding neighborhood can do likewise at the end of the school day.
Muncie Schools has similar food pantries at Southside Middle School and Southview Elementary.
