Unemployment Down In Grant & Surrounding Counties

Unemployment was down in Grant and all surrounding counties in September, though statewide joblessness held steady, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
Grant County’s jobless rate last month stood at 3.5-percent…down half a percent from the previous month.  But that rate is still the highest in this area.
Blackford County was next in line at 3.4-percent, but then Delaware, Madison and Miami counties all stood at 3.3-percent.  The lowest unemployment rates in this part of Indiana are in Tipton and Wells counties where it’s just 2.2-percent.
Indiana’s overall jobless rate in September was 3.5-percent.
