The Howard County Sheriff’s Department says scammers are using their phone number to call people and ask for money for various reasons.
Even though the caller I-D may appear legitimate, the sheriff’s department say they never call to request money for anything.
If you get such a phone call, police say hang up, because it’s a scam.
