There will be a contested race for Mayor in Gas City this year, but it probably won’t happen until November.
Gas City businessman Bill Rock has filed to run for Mayor, but as an Independent…meaning he won’t have to run in the May Primary.
Rock says he simply wants to bring a different perspective to the Mayor’s office.
Current Gas City Mayor Larry Leach has filed for re-election on the Democratic ticket, seeking a fifth term in office.
