Two more persons filed today at the last minute to run for Mayor of Marion, while four more persons filed to seek City Council seats in Marion just before the deadline.
Longtime City Councilman Henry Smith has filed for the Democratic nomination for Mayor, as did former City Council member Jocelyn Whitticker…who unsuccessfully ran for State Auditor last November.
Smith and Whitticker will join current Mayor Jess Alumbaugh and City Councilwoman Lynn Johnson in seeking the Democratic nomination for Mayor in May.
On the Republican side, current City Councilmen David Homer and Steve Henderson are seeking the nomination along with Raymond Glass.
Meanwhile, former City Councilman Fred Troxell wants his old District 1 seat back. He filed for that seat today on the Democratic ticket, as did Gary Fordyce Senior and Chad Phillips on the Republican side.
And Brian Brand filed for the Republican nod for City
