Former United States Senator from Indiana, Birch Bayh died at the age of 91 yesterday in his home in Maryland. Bayh was the author of the 25th and 26th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution and author of Title Nine of the Higher Education Act. His family said in a statement that he had pneumonia. Bayh was the father for former governor and U.S. Senator Evan Bayh.
