Grant County Rescue Mission Thrift Store To Relocate And Be Renamed

Executives at the Grant County Rescue Mission have announced the relocation and new name of their thrift store. Mission Mart will close Saturday, April 20 at 6:00 pm, and ReNewed Boutique and Thrift will open Wednesday, May 1 at 10:00 am at 702 South Adams Street in Marion, Indiana.
The mission of the Grant County Rescue Mission is to offer life-changing hope through the restoring power of Jesus Christ. The funding they receive from their thrift store does just that. The GCRM thrift store has helped fund the different ministries of the GCRM since its inception in 1985. Continued public support of the thrift store has helped the GCRM expand programs for meals, increased capacity at our men’s shelter, helped open and increase capacity at Open Heart, the GCRM shelter for women and children, and helped create their Life Change addiction recovery program.
“Our thrift operation has been evolving for quite some time now,” Executive Director Rick Berbereia shared. “We are excited about opening a new location in downtown Marion to continue serving our customers.  It has been worth the wait! Our staff and board of directors keep saying the best is yet to come and this is an exciting step in that direction.”
Board President Troy Simpson is excited for ReNewed Boutique and Thrift, saying, “We are very excited about our new name and location. The new building gives us opportunities to serve the community in ways we have never been able to do in the past.”
The Grant County Rescue Mission hopes that ReNewed Boutique and Thrift will also receive a thumbs-up from the Grant County community. They will host a ribbon-cutting on Friday, May 3 at 11:30 am with both the Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce and the Gas City Area Chamber of Commerce. They will also host a grand opening community celebration on Saturday, May 4 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. All are invited and welcome to enjoy the festivities.
