Ball State University Cardinals near and far will unite April 9 for One Ball State Day, a day-long fundraising and engagement event.
Students, alumni, and friends are encouraged to “Give Back to Fly Forward” during this 24-hour online event designed to harnesses the collective power of Ball State alumni, faculty and staff, students, parents, and friends.
Cardinals around the globe will celebrate this day of giving by wearing Ball State apparel; posting on social media (using the hashtag #OneBallState); and making a gift of $5 or more.
Those gifts support “the academic programs, student organizations, and numerous funds that make possible the transformative impact our University has on the lives of thousands and thousands of women and men,” said President Geoffrey S. Mearns.
Throughout the day, challenges will be posted that will increase the impact of giving.
All gifts are tax refundable and can easily be made online at oneballstate.bsu.edu.
Throughout the day, the David Letterman Communication and Media Building will be the hub for several campus events, including “Pancakes with President,” hosted by the President and First Lady Jennifer Mearns. The event is sponsored by IHOP, which is providing free pancakes and bacon to the first 300 attendees. Starting at 9:18 a.m., the breakfast is timed is timed to celebrate the University’s 2018-19 celebration of its Centennial . (All One Ball State events are set for 18 after the hour.)
The day’s events continue with:
- Cheers with the Chairs at 1:18 p.m. Join department chairs, cheerleaders, and Charlie Cardinal for Cardinal punch and an hourly fundraising challenge.
- Snaps and Snacks at 3:18 p.m. Celebrate an afternoon of giving with photo book contests and snacks.
- DJs, PJs, and Pizza at 7:18 p.m. and 9:18 p.m. Participants are urged to wear pajamas for these evening events featuring hourly challenges, pizza, music, and more.
One Ball State Day is part of the University’s Centennial Celebration. For 100 years, Ball State has grown thanks to the generosity and engagement of its alumni and friends. Ball State is a state-assisted doctoral institution in Muncie, Indiana, a midsize Midwestern city one hour northeast of Indianapolis. Its vibrant 731-acre campus is home to about 22,000 undergraduate and graduate students from across the country and abroad.
