Peru Plant still planning to close

All efforts have apparently failed to keep a Peru plant from closing its doors.
Today’s Kokomo Tribune reports that Schneider Electric still plans to shut down its’ Miami County facility, laying off more than 300 workers.
Union officials and city and county officials have reportedly offered incentives to keep the company here after it was announced in February that the plant’s production would be sent to 2 other Schneider locations by the end of the year.
Schneider Electric opened in Peru over a hundred years ago and it has been one of the largest employers in Miami County.
