Fort Wayne Man Arrested For Liquid THC

Delaware County – Just before midnight last night, 5/15Trooper Bradley Tucker was sitting in a crossover on I-69 around the 241 mile marker when he clocked a north bound car at 102 M.P.H. Tucker pulled out and attempted to catch up to the vehicle as it exited at the SR 332 exit.

Tucker watched as the car passed a car on the right shoulder on the ramp, go through the red light at the top of the ramp and turn right onto SR 332 then into a gas station.  As Trooper Tucker pulled into the station the driver jumped out and ran into the station’s bathroom. Tucker went inside and waited for the driver to exit.

After a few minutes Tucker made contact with driver, James Oldham, age 21 of Fort Wayne, as he came out of the restroom. The trooper found that Oldham had been driving on a suspended Indiana Driver’s License. As the two got back to the car to retrieve a registration, Tucker could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a “factory sealed’ bag of marijuana from California, as well as 201 vials of factory sealed liquid THC to be used in vaping pens, valued at $10,050.  Oldham was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor charges of Possession of Marijuana and Driving While License Suspended with a prior conviction.

In addition Oldham was issued Tickets for driving 102 M.P.H. in a 70 M.P.H. zone and Disregarding an Automatic Signal.  Oldham was lodged in the Delaware County Jail. Trooper Tucker was assisted in his investigation by Trooper Jacob Ridgway.
