Hartford City Man Facing Neglect Charges After Heroin Overdose

31-year old Kyle A. Hudson of Hartford City man faces felony charges of neglect of a dependent & possession of a narcotic drug, after he allegedly overdosed on heroin in the company of his children.

According to Hartford City police, Hudson collapsed in the roadway in the 1500 block of South Jefferson Street shortly before 8 p.m. on May 10. Emergency responders administered several doses of Narcan, to revive Hudson.

According to the Star Press, Hudson’s two children were standing nearby when police arrived. Authorities said they found a plastic bag containing heroin in Hudson’s possession, however Hudson denies having the substance in his possession. Trial is set for July 10 in Blackford Superior Court.
