Today Indiana University Kokomo’s Juneteenth celebration continues at 10 a.m.
The holiday commemorates when slaves in Texas were notified that they were free, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. is a Voter Registration Drive in the Kelley Student Center Commons and from 12-1 p.m. is a dessert reception in the same commons area.
