Jeff Wakefield, the Chief Financial Officer at Marion General Hospital, has been named on the “106 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know” 2019 list.
Wakefield is a Certified Public Accountant with over 17 years of experience in healthcare finance. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Campbell

He has experience in capital planning, cost reporting, contract management and revenue cycle for healthcare organizations.
He has worked for both for-profit and nonprofit hospitals, including in his current role as CFO of MGH, a nonprofit hospital that was named among the Top 20 Rural and Community Hospitals in the U.S. by iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Center for Rural Health this year.
“I am very proud to be part of the team at Marion General. We have great staff who work hard every day to provide the best of care to our patients and support the mission of the hospital,” said Wakefield.
The individuals featured on this list lead financial departments for large health systems as well as small community hospitals. Many play an integral role in their organization’s strategic planning, growth and transactions; they have also been recognized by their peers and serve on the board of directors for community organizations.
The Becker’s Hospital Review accepted nominations and developed the final list based on an editorial review process.
