Sen. Randy Head resigning, takes position as chief deputy prosecutor

Logansport Senator Randy Head is resigning.
Head will step down next month to become chief deputy prosecutor in Pulaski County.
Before his election to the Senate 10 years ago, he was the deputy prosecutor of Cass County.
He says he was planning to run for a fourth term next year but says the prosecutor offer came up unexpectedly.
Once it did, there was a powerful financial incentive to take it: Head says his Cass County service left him a little more than two years shy of the eight years needed for his prosecutor’s pension benefits to kick in.
He says he won’t be a candidate in 2020.
