East Chicago explosion leaves three in hospital

Three people are in the hospital after a fire and explosion at a business in East Chicago.
A boiler exploded at T.A.C. East on Gary Road just after 7 a.m. Central Time Wednesday.
The explosion injured three male employees, according to East Chicago Fire Chief Anthony Serna. The men had first-, second-, and third-degree burns to their arms and legs, Serna told the Times of Northwest Indiana.
The three men are stable at Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus in Gary.
