BREAKING: Amanda Carmack jury trial set, will represent herself

The jury trial is set for Amanda Carmack, 34, who is accused of strangling her 10-year-old stepdaughter Skylea Carmack.
The trial will begin Feb. 3, 2020 at 9 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Mark Spitzer.
According to Fox 59, Carmack waived her right to counsel during her initial hearing, stating that she “doesn’t need a lawyer” and will instead represent herself.
The probable cause affidavit filed last week stated that Carmack admitted to strangling Skylea on Aug. 31, hours before Carmack reported her missing to the Gas City Police Department.
She’s charged with murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury, strangulation, and domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury.
Prosecutors are seeking life without parole.
