Alliance Garden to host harvest party this evening

The Alliance Garden will be hosting a harvest party today from 5-8 p.m. at the 38th and Boots Street location on the northeast edge of IWU’s campus.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Jennifer Noseworthy, assistant professor of plant biology at IWU and director of Alliance Garden, encourages the IWU and Marion community to bring family and friends to the event.
“The Alliance Garden Harvest Party is not only a great way to celebrate the coming of the fall, but it will give visitors an opportunity to explore our campus garden, sample local food and goods and learn about sustainable agriculture practices,” Noseworthy said.
The harvest party will feature tours of the garden, pumpkin painting and a photobooth. Cider, popcorn, tamales, elephant ears and Abby Coffee will also be available.
Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase products from vendors, such as tea blends, honey and succulent plants, and Alliance Garden will have produce available for purchase.
Alliance Garden is a collaborative IWU and Marion outreach project focused on informing communities about holistic living through sustainable agriculture.
