MPD: robbery at McClure Oil leads to arrest

On Friday evening Marion Police officers responded to McClure Oil, located at 722 N. Washington St., for reports of a robbery.
According to a press release, the store’s clerk, Alyssa White, reported that around 7:30 p.m. she was behind the counter when a white female wearing black basketball shorts, white t-shirt, black hat and sunglasses entered the store and demanded money from the cash register.
White reported that the suspect placed her hand underneath her shirt suggesting that she had a weapon. White then opened the cash register and gave the suspect the currency. The suspect then fled the store eastbound.
Officers were dispatched to the area and located a female matching the description provided by White. The female was transported back to McClure and positively identified by White as being the suspect. The suspect, Jennifer L. Bovee, 49, of Marion, was transported to the department where she later confessed to robbing McClure and providing officers with a false name (Dana Seymour).
Bovee was arrested to answer to the following charges: Robbery, Level 5 Felony and False Informing, Level 6 Felony. Bovee was transported to the Grant Co. Jail without incident.
