Caltech just received a major gift from philanthropists Stewart and Linda Resnick.
The owners of The Wonderful Company announced Thursday that they’re pledging $750 million to Caltech to continue research on environmental sustainability.
The Wonderful Company owns Teleflora, POM Wonderful pomegranate juice, pistachios and Halo mandarins.
The Resnick’s pledge is the largest ever for climate research and the second-largest donation to a school in the United States.
Stewart Resnick said that he and his wife’s decision to donate such a substantial gift to Caltech come as “Science and bold creativity must unite to address the most pressing challenges facing energy, water and sustainability.”
