MHS JROTC participating in field day involving MPD, MFD GCSD and more

The Marion High School JROTC Giant Battalion will participate in a competitive field day event this Friday.
The event is hosted by representatives from the Marion Police and Fire departments, Grant County Sheriff’s Department, Ball State University ROTC, along with recruiters from the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps and the Indiana National Guard.
The Giant Battalion has 75 new cadets who have never experienced a JROTC field day. In addition, 60 cadets from Warsaw High School and Blackford High School will be joining the Giants.
“We deliberately partnered with other service-oriented organization so the cadets could see and get to know individuals who have dedicated their lives to the service of others,” said retired Lt. Col. David Farlow, the Marion JROTC senior Army instructor. “I want the cadets to understand that giving back to their community is important, and the organizations participating with us are dedicated to serving others.”
