Off-duty MPD officer injured in crash

An off-duty Marion police officer was injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon.
48-year-old Kent Wilson was driving a pickup truck on Baldwin Ave., when, for an unknown reason, the truck left the road, hit a pole, and landed on its side.
Wilson had to be airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital.
His condition was not immediately known.
This is an ongoing investigation but at this time neither the use of alcohol nor narcotics is suspected as being a contributing factor in the crash.
