World Health Organization officially recognizes ‘gaming disorder’ as a condition

We often describe a good video game as “addictive”. But it turns out that video game addiction can be just as real as other compulsive behaviors.
This year, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially recognized ‘gaming disorder’ as a condition, and researchers are working on possible treatments.
But not everyone agrees about how widespread gaming addiction has become. Some reports say it affects as few as 1 percent of gamers, while others claim that more than half are addicted.
