Fire destroys W. Second St. home

A fire destroyed a home Wednesday morning.
It happened at 1524 W. Second St.
According to the Marion Fire Department’s Assistant Chief Justin Planck, the home had just one occupant and no injuries were reported
Planck said the cause of that fire is still under investigation and that he can’t rule out an electrical issue being the cause of the blaze.
By the time the fire was reported to MFD the first and second floors at the front of the house were mostly engulfed. Planck said his firefighters were able to put a stop on the fire after about 30 minutes.
While fighting the fire, Planck said marijuana plants were found growing inside the home.
The Marion Police Department was called in to investigate.
