New Maryland homeowner finds body of previous owner in foreclosed house

After buying a house in a foreclosure auction, a Maryland man earlier this week made a shocking discovery: the body of the home’s former owner.
Neighbors told police the 39-year-old woman had special needs and lived in the District Heights home with her grandmother, who cared for her.
When the grandma died and the house went into foreclosure a year ago, they assumed the woman had gone to live with other relatives, according to police.
“We didn’t know, … that she was in the house,” one neighbor told a local TV station. “I know they cut utilities. I know there’s no power in there. I’m not sure if there was water in there, but I’m pretty sure if they cut the electricity, they cut the heat, too.”
Police say they found no immediate signs of foul play. The woman’s cause of death is pending a medical examiner’s report.
