Ball State student upholds pledge, passing out food during protests

Inspired by social media and the Beneficence Pledge, one Ball State student helped protesters in Fort Wayne by handing out food on the courthouse lawn.
According to WANE, Carl Kitchen said it was the least he could do to help support those pushing for social justice.
Kitchen said he thinks the protests are sending a strong message and he’s proud to be an American right now, WANE reports.
According to Ball State University’s website, the Beneficence Pledge includes pledges to act in socially responsible ways and value the intrinsic worth of every community member, respecting and learning from their differences.
