The body found in Kokomo retention pond has been identified as person missing for 11 years

Last Wednesday, authorities in Kokomo pulled an algae-covered vehicle from a retention pond, along with a body inside.

Preliminary investigations have identified the body as that of Ester Westernbarger, who went missing after leaving a bar in 2009, according to the Kokomo Perspective.

The vehicle was first noticed in the pond when people were fishing there and noticed something in the water.

According to the Perspective, foul play is not suspected in Westernbarger’s death.

The case is still under investigation.
