Disabled Kids To Be Included In Silver Alerts

A new law will expand the Indiana’s Silver Alert notification system to including missing children with disabilities.
Governor Eric Holcomb has signed the bill into law which would include missing children who have mental, physical and social disabilities when police issue an alert, which currently applies only to missing adults.
The state’s current Amber Alert notification system only applies to children who are abducted, but it does not apply to children who wander away or leave their home, school or care facility on their own.
The new law goes into effect in July.
