Staffing Study Recommends Changes For Grant County

A staffing study conducted for Grant County government recommends changes that could reduce staff and save the county money in the future.
The study conducted by the Muncie firm of Waggoner, Irwin, Scheele and Associates found that Grant County could save money by outsourcing some services, consolidating others and using attrition to reduce staff where possible.
According to the “Chronicle-Tribune,” the study found that some positions aren’t needed or are duplicated in some cases.  The study also found that Grant County could reduce staff numbers without layoffs.
Although County Council members heard details about the study last night during a special session, they took no action on it.  They’ll discuss it further during their regular session next week.
