Ball State Comes To Gas City For Rock the Way

Tuesday, July 24th will be a big night in Gas City.  Not only will Gas City host its’ Concerts in the Park that night, but it will also host the United Way of Grant County’s annual “Rock the Way” event as well as host a visit by Ball State University to celebrate the schools centennial anniversary.

A contingent from Ball State will come to Gas City to celebrate how the university has grown and changed over the years, according to spokesperson Delaina Boyd.

Ball State officials will have an entire vehicle full of items and displays during the Ball State Road Show visit.  Boyd says they hope visitors will volunteer to assemble literacy kits and support the United Way’s goal to help end the cycle of generational poverty through early childhood education and literacy.

The Ball State Road Show hopes to visit ten or more Indiana communities like Gas City during the coming year as they celebrate the school’s 100th anniversary.
