Central Indiana Ethanol wants to become an even bigger part of the city of Marion.
Officials from C-I-E have formally requested additional land be annexed into the city of Marion, and the issue will come up for a vote before the city council in August.
C-I-E’s property on highway 18 was just outside the Marion City limits when it opened in 2005, but it was annexed and developed a Tax Increment Financing District. But if the city council approves, the additional 23-acre property would be taken into the city limits and become part of the TIF District.
