Indiana D-C-S Review Continues

Officials with the Indiana Department of Child Services say they’re still assessing whether Indiana’s child neglect laws need to be changed.

Governor Eric Holcomb pledged three months ago to implement all 20 recommendations from an independent agency hired to review D-C-S. One of those recommendations was to reduce an overload of cases by narrowing the definition of neglect.

Associate director Todd Meyer says the department is studying how that has worked elsewhere.
