State Panel Recommends Howard County Court Magistrate

A state judicial panel has voted unanimously to support Howard County’s request for a court magistrate as a means of easing the local court system.
The magistrate would assist the county’s five current judges in processing cases quicker and thus easing the county’s jail overcrowding problem.
The issue must now go to the Indiana Legislature early next year for approval.
