IU-K Students Build Food Oasis For the Needy

A group of Indiana University-Kokomo students are doing their part to solve the food desert problem in Kokomo by building and stocking a food oasis.  It’s a large wooden box filled with nonperishable food items, toiletries, diapers and other items that are difficult to find when there isn’t a grocery store nearby.
The food oasis is now placed near the Carver Community Center.  It’s one of four projects completed by students in the environmental conservation class at IU-K.
