Indiana Can Now Regulate Growing Of Hemp

The new federal farm bill that President Trump signed into law late last week now removes the obstacles for Indiana to regulate hemp as a cash crop.
Justin Swanson with the Indiana Hemp Industries Association says Hoosier farmers could benefit from raising hemp, but says state lawmakers must be pro-active to come up with regulations that make sense for farmers instead of waiting and letting the federal government dictate the regulations.
Swanson says the earliest you may see hemp grown in Hoosier farm fields will be in the Spring of 2020.
