Dave Homer To Seek Marion Mayor’s Office

Candidates can begin filing for the Municipal Election in Marion on Wednesday, and there will likely be several persons seeking the Mayor’s office this year.
Republican City Councilman Steve Henderson announced his intentions to do so last summer.  Now, another City Councilman has announced plans to seek the G-O-P nomination for Mayor in the May Primary.
Councilman Dave Homer says he plans to seek the Mayor’s office this year and will make a formal declaration on Saturday during a rally at the Clarence Faulkner Community Center.
Homer spent 20-years with the Marion Police Department, including eight-years as Chief.  He’s now an investigator with the Grant County Prosecutor’s office.  He’s also spent 11-years on the Marion City Council.
Incumbent Democrat Jess Alumbaugh has also announced that he will seek re-election to the Mayor’s office.  Several other persons are also expected to file to run for the Mayor’s Office this year.
