Work is finally underway in replacing the roof of the historic Muncie Fieldhouse.
The Fieldhouse was severely damaged in a storm in November of 2017 and hasn’t hosted an event since then.
But work began Tuesday on installing the new roof and officials say exterior masonry work should begin soon, followed by the installation of the new playing surface at the Fieldhouse.
Muncie School officials are hopeful the Fieldhouse could once again host sporting events by next fall.
