Marion Candidate Filings As Deadline Draws Near

Friday is the deadline to file to run for municipal offices in Indiana in the May Primary, and two more persons have filed to run for the Marion City Council.
Republican Charles “Hobby” Moon has filed to seek the Council’s first Ward seat.  He’s unopposed at this point.  In the 6th Ward, Democrat Nechelle Sanders has filed to seek the seat currently held by Republican Deb Cain, who has already filed for re-election.
One notable name not on the list yet is that of current Marion Mayor Jess Alumbaugh.  Mayor Alumbaugh has said publicly that he would seek re-election this year, but hasn’t yet filed to do so.
Friday at noon is the deadline to file for the Primary.
