Body Found Wednesday Night In Marion Garage

Marion Police are investigating the discovery of a body inside a garage Wednesday night after the homeowner had reported a break-in there.
Police say the homeowner reported the garage in the 600 block of West Third Street had been entered and he was cleaning up the garage when he discovered that a large antique floor safe had been knocked over.  The safe weighed over 900 pounds and the homeowner then discovered a body beneath the safe.
Police removed the body and it has been sent to a hospital in Fort Wayne for an autopsy.  An I-D was found on the body, but the name of the victim has not been released pending notification of relatives.
The case remains under investigation.
