Montpelier Man Facing Meth Charges

A Montpelier man faces up to 30 years in prison for allegedly dealing methamphetamine in Blackford County. Chad A. Weaver, 45, of Montpelier, is charged in Blackford Circuit Court with dealing in meth, possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance. Weaver’s trial date is set for June 25th.

According to The Star Press, a Montpelier police officer pulled Weaver over on March 7 for driving a pickup truck with a license plate that was registered to another vehicle.

As the officer prepared to conduct a search, Weaver reportedly acknowledged there was meth in the truck.. Authorities recovered several plastic bags containing “white crystals” that were determined to be meth. Also seized were a set of digital scales and tablets of a narcotic medication.
