Democrat Joselyn Whitticker, who is running as a mayoral candidate in the primary, held her first campaign event on Saturday. According to the Chronicle-Tribune, former city council members Paul Thompson, Jr, and Fred Troxell voiced their support of Whitticker at the event, which was held at the Marion-Grant County Senior Center.
Whitticker has served on the Marion City Council, Board of Works, and is the current president of the local NAACP.
