Wolkins honors Emmanuel Christian High School students at Statehouse

State Rep. Dave Wolkins (R-Warsaw) honored the Emmanuel Christian High School boys’ basketball team and girls’ volleyball team at the Statehouse for their state championship wins.
“These young men and women represented our community exceptionally,” Wolkins said. “They showed great teamwork and acted with humility. Both groups of student athletes worked hard and learned many valuable lessons. The accomplishments and lessons gained through these sports will stay with them for the rest of their lives.”
On February 23, the Eagles boys’ basketball team won the Indiana Association of Christian Schools Division II state championship, defeating Cornerstone Baptist Academy 75-63. They finished the season with a 14-8 overall record, and this became their fifth straight title.
Last October, the Eagles girls’ volleyball team won the Division II state championship. The Eagles defeated Grace Baptist Christian School in back-to-back matches and did not lose a set the entire tournament. This is their third consecutive state title.
