Peru To Get New Water System

After receiving approval this week from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Peru Utilities is ready to move ahead with a new phosphate injection system at its water treatment facility. The Kokomo Tribune says the city has been dealing with elevated lead levels in its water for at least the last 5 years.
The new phosphate system is expected to cost about $50,000, and it’s expected to be operational by the end of this year.
